Maybe even the sense that you’re failing at this whole mom thing.
Ten years ago, after the birth of my first son, Wolfgang, I was navigating something brand new with little support.
I realized how difficult breastfeeding was, and also how badly I wanted to have those magical moments with him.
My success with Wolfgang was hard won.
Then came Oxley, then Teddy.
I discovered I wasn’t able to apply the rulebook I had cobbled together with Wolfgang…every baby was so different–which meant our breastfeeding relationships were, too.
Through lots of tears, countless doctor’s appointments, sorting through often conflicting information, and with lots of support from my husband Joe, I met my goals.
When other moms learned about my experiences, they started to come to me for advice.
I knew there was a need for more support.
That’s why I created Lollies Lactation.
Finding my own breastfeeding success was so difficult and so rewarding that I’ve dedicated myself to making it easier for other moms.
Armed with my nursing degree, I’ve earned International Board Certified Lactation Consultant® certification and Family Nurse Practitioner certification from the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners (AANP).
We recently welcomed our fourth, baby girl Birdie, who has become quite the mascot for Lollies and even inspired my first online course.
I’m grateful to have found my purpose: helping moms and families provide the best for their newborns–whatever that looks like for them.
We have many options from breastfeeding or chestfeeding to exclusive pumping and, yes, formula. There’s no one-size-fits-all solution.
I’m proud that Lollies Lactation represents an open and inclusive practice.
So, relax. Take a breath. You’re in good hands.

Katelyn S. Hedrick, RDN, IBCLC
Hi, I’m Katelyn, mom of three, Dietitian with a decade of experience, and baker & owner of Muffin Mama. I have been working in lactation support for over three years with over five years of personal breastfeeding experience, having nursed my babies into toddlerhood. I have a degree in Nutrition & Dietetics frm UNCG, have completed the Dietetic Internship program at Meredith College, and have completed the Lactation Certification program at NC State along with over 500+ hours with breastfeeding moms and infants. I learned a lot through my struggles with all three of my babies and felt lead to help other moms with similar struggles. I am so thrilled to be joining the Lollies team as their newest IBCLC!

Hello there! My name is Kalyne. I am a mom of 2 boys and a past client of Kacie's. Before joining the Lollies Lactation team, I worked in the public education school system for 11 years. I will be your contact for insurance and billing questions. Once you have booked your first appointment, I will email intake forms for you to complete. I will also review your insurance information and contact you regarding a co-pay if required.
